They're taking an age to deliver the bike. Haven't heard a word since nearly 2 weeks. Welp. Wouldn't want to cycle in this 40 C heat anyway. They're also up in Newcastle... can't hate on anything based near that bloody amazing football team. Will just keep waiting I guess :/

Bought a pair of shoes as a present along with a number of other items, totalling over £400 and paid next day delivery to ensure I got the trainers in time.
When the shoes arrived (next day as promised) the outer delivery box for the full delivery was fine but the shoe box looked like it had been used for a game of football, there was also damage to a couple of other items in the delivery.
I wrote expressing my disappointment and saying I couldn’t give the shoes as a present any more so would need to return them along with a photo of the damage.
Rather than receiving an apology or an acceptance this was unacceptable I was told that this was standard.
I pointed out that the Start Fitness returns policy states ‘Items must be returned complete with tags, original packaging and in fully re-saleable condition. Shoes must be returned in the original box in a postal bag with no damage; tape or postage affixed to the box.’ and asked that someone call me to discuss and resolve the issue.
Rather than someone calling me I got a response saying “We can understand if a box has been worn down during the delivery stage, it would be foolish to not expect this. If the items are still okay, then the box has done its intended job. To stress, the purpose of the box is to protect the item. You are welcome to return the items if they are no longer suitable.”
So I am expected to pay for the return costs, even though it’s clearly not in “re-saleable condition”, as well as having the inconvenience of getting another present and paying next day delivery for no reason!
Clearly all nonsense as had the shoes been advertised as having no display box or a damaged box I wouldn’t have bought them in the first place and they do not comply with their own returns policy! You don’t give someone a present in a damaged box as it looks 2nd hand regardless of what it is.
Plus I am now seemingly a “fool” for expecting an undamaged product which is nice.
Why shouldn’t I be able to return them for a refund with postage paid for? I would appreciate a call from someone to explain.

I ordered a £4000 Mountain Bike and expected a service that justified the price.

No communication whatsoever to confirm the order has been picked, ready for assembly, being assembled etc....

I then received a phone call 2 weeks later confirming the bike was ready for dispatch and will be with me the next working day. I then received an email from DPD confirming the same.

Today (14.07) I have received no communication from either SF or DPD and when checking delivery now being informed it will not be delivered. I immediately contacted Start Fitness and have now been told that due to an issue with the curries the delivery is not going to take place today.

Complete lack of ownership, empathy, and reasonable service considering the cost of the bike. They now want me to email in my complaint as they are unable to take it via Live Chat.

Very happy with the products and prices are the cheapest on line.

Ordered and received a brooks narrow saddle, found that there are 2 rivet not hammered correctly and had it return for replace or repair on 9 Jun, had a few conversations about they have my return item sent to their supplier for warrantly claim, and now is 29 Jun, still no news from them
